  1. Thank you for this beautiful story about your beloved Montana. It touched both my husband and I deeply and was a touching tribute to one of God’s creatures.

  2. Thank you for sharing this heartfelt story about the love your family shared with Montana. It brought tears to my eyes.May your hope in Christ comfort you in your sadness. My mini Aussie Belle is 13 and doing well but getting older. She has brought much joy to our family as Montana did to yours. Likewise, when her time comes I will be heartbroken but know I will see her again because love never ends.

    • Thank you Billy. It’s a wonderful thing to have a dog live so long. I bet your Aussie Belle is getting really sweet in her age. May God grant you the blessing of enjoying her a few more years.

  3. C.S. Lewis would agree with you. For those who do not believe animals will be in heaven, never read Revelation 19.

  4. We had to do this for our almost 17 year old dog, Cooper, on August 14, almost two weeks ago. Thank you for sharing this.

    • Wow, that’s so sad to hear. Our dogs left this world just three days apart (Montana died on August 11). I’m glad you had so many wonderful years with Cooper.

  5. I’m so sorry that you lost you family member- he was like a dog’s dog- noble, devoted and with a heart as big as Montana. I dearly miss my wild crow friend that routinely visited me a few years back, then disappeared. I’m not a pet person as it’s too difficult to say goodbye.

    • Hi Dede. Thanks for your thoughts. Yes, it’s difficult to lose pets.

That’s amazing you had a crow visit you on a regular basis a few years back. They are one of the smartest birds and can easily bond to humans.

  6. On May 17, 2020 we too had to set my dog Jack free of his old body that was failing him. We had been unable to visit him as the country was in “lockdown”. We sat on the floor with him in a private room when the time came to say our goodbyes. I held his paw, and suddenly I gasped as a shock (like strong static electricity) went from his paw through my hand and made me jump! I knew, just knew – that was his soul leaving his body and I indeed will get to spend eternity with Jack and all my other beloved animals. God is so good!

  7. Hi Deb. Thanks for sharing your story. I’m sorry you couldn’t visit your doggie as this time on earth was ending. But it’s great that you got to be with him one last time as he passed away, and that you got to feel him leave his body. It’s so important for us to be there when they go. They look to us all their lives and they need our comfort when they fade from this world.
