Isaiah 61:11 and a Pepper Blossom in Our Family Garden, Bellevue, Nebraska.
“For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations.” Isaiah 61:11
Garden of Praise
As an avid gardener I appreciate the imagery used in this verse. The scripture uses the richness of a garden to proclaim God’s goodness. Isaiah 61 tells of the work of the coming Messiah and in Luke Chapter 4 Jesus declares that His work begins the fulfillment of the prophecy.
The prophecy says that the Messiah will bring righteousness and praise before the nations through His people. That praise and righteousness will spring up just as a garden bursts forth with life! May our praise be found in God’s gardens.
