Fallen in the Rocky Places
Matthew 13:5, 6 and 8 and Trees Growing Among the Rocks, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
“Other seeds fell on the rocky places, where they did not have much soil; and immediately they sprang up… because they had no root, they withered away… And others fell on the good soil and yielded a crop, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.” Matthew 13:5, 6 and 8
Good Soil in Rocky Places
Often in the wilderness I find trees growing in soil I thought was much too rocky, but somehow they find good soil in which to grow.
As Christians, God call us to share His Word. When we do, some seeds we sow fall in the rocks. Those seeds fail to take root and quickly perish in the hearts of those who reject Christ.
Praise God! When we share the Gospel, some seed does fall on good soil and often we don’t know what seed that is. But Just like a tree growing in an unexpected place, some unexpected person will decide to follow Jesus.
Have you ever been surprised when someone whom you thought would never become a Christian does become a Christian?
Read all of Matthew 13.
Yes, that is the work of God
Amen, Rhoda.
Both the photo and the verse is amazing. I needed that today. Thank you for inspiring me like that as if you know what I need.
Hi Nia! Thanks for sharing. God knows what you need to hear and he used this post to met your needs.
Thank you for this hope … we have several who have heard the Gospel and for whom we have been praying daily.
Keep praying for them!
