Visual Bible Verse of the Day: Revelation 5:5 and a Male Lion.
“Then one of the elders said to me, ‘Do not weep! Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has triumphed to open the scroll and its seven seals.’” Revelation 5:5
Jesus, Lion of Judah
The imagery of a lion brings to mind many noble characteristics. In lions we see the qualities of power, strength and majesty. The look of this great beast with its regal mane conjures up images of royalty. No doubt, the lion is an animal that demands respect. The appearance of this animal makes it easy to understand why the Bible calls Jesus the Lion of Judah. He rules as our great and glorious Lord and reigns over all. As the verse proclaims, He alone is worthy to accomplish God’s plans.
