For Unto Us a Child is Born
Isaiah 9:6-7, “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” and Sunrise, Olympic National Park, Washington State.
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end.” Isaiah 9:6-7a (BSB)
For Unto Us
Isaiah chapter 9 proclaims the deity of the coming Messiah. It proclaims the Messiah as the Mighty God and Everlasting Father and that the Messiah would reign on King David’s throne forever. The Messiah, the one who reigns on David’s throne, is Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is God. At Christmas we celebrate His birth and the profound reality that God came to earth as a baby to save us from our sins.
Some people question if Jesus was born on December 25, but that really doesn’t matter. What matters is that He came. And as believers we set aside December 25 to specifically celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior. Have a Blessed and Merry Christmas!

If they are not would you consider doing a December Christmas book with the carols included? I have enjoyed these very very much and as I sing them to God after reading them, I feel Him here like He is smiling! I would really love such a devotional and the hoots are AMAZING!! Hi Deborah. I’m glad you find enjoyment in the traditional Christmas carols! I find them very rich and full of meaning. My devotional book does not have any of the Christmas carols in it. The focus of it is God’s word, how we see His hand in nature and applying those things to our lives and relationship with God. The book uses beautiful photography, Scripture verses about nature and devotional thoughts to bring people to secluded places where they can draw near to God.
