Our Transcendent God Who Dwells on High
Attributes of God Series: Isaiah 57:15 and Clouds Surround a Mountain, Collegiate Peaks Wilderness Area, Colorado.
“For thus says the high and exalted One. Who dwells in eternity, whose name is Holy, I dwell on a high and holy place, And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite.” Isaiah 57:15
Our Transcendent God Who also Dwells with the Lowly
God dwells in eternity. He lives outside of time and creation, in a place outside our comprehension. He transcends the Universe and all of creation. Transcendence is one of God’s attributes.
God transcends time, creation and our comprehension, but do not worry. As this Bible verse tells us, Our transcendent God also chooses to enter time and space to dwell “with the contrite and lowly”. Think of the wonder in that thought! The God without limits, that nothing can contain, has chosen to dwell with you and me.
God wants to walk with you and spend time with you. Be blessed knowing that God who can live everywhere and do anything chooses to spend time with you.
Read all of Isaiah 57.
Two words came as I read this – humbling and hopeful.
Thank you – wonderful devotion!
You’re welcome Bebe. And thanks for your comment. Good words to have come to mind.
Just been reading Revelation 4. To think that such a holy, awesome, almighty, all powerful God would stoop to gently dwell in a humble and contrite heart to revive us! Just amazing but He just does. What a God we have.
Thanks Pat, yes. It is truly amazing that He would want to reach down and be part of our lives. It’s because of His great love.
