He “Trains My Fingers for Battle”
Psalm 144:1-2 and Bull Elk Sparring, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
“Blessed be the LORD, my rock, Who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle; My lovingkindness and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliver, my shield and He in whom I take refuge, Who subdues my people under me.” Psalm 144:1-2
He Trains My Fingers for Battle
Thankfully, most of us will never see war, but for those that do, may they find comfort in this Bible verse.
Those of who will never see a physical war, will face a spiritual war (see 2 Corinthians 10:4). God trains us for that spiritual war and for whatever struggles we will face in life by equipping us spiritually, emotionally and mentally.
The two elk in this photo are young and are not really fighting. They’re just sparring. But their sparring in their youth will help equip them for the day when they actually do fight as mature elk. In much the same way, through our life experiences God equips us for the trials and battles that lie ahead.
Read all of Psalm 144.
Very good lesson …
