Joy Comes in the Morning
Psalm 30:4-5 and Sunrise Pawnee State Recreation Area, Nebraska.
“Sing praise to the LORD, you His godly ones, And give thanks to His holy name. For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:4-5
Songs and Shouts of Joy Come in the Morning
The story behind Psalm 30 is said to be that King David wrote it after recovering from a mortal illness. When one reads the entire psalm, that story becomes clear. David praised God for his healing and for turning his “mourning into dancing (verse 11).”
David’s healing gave him reason to shout for joy, but we don’t need to wait for a physical healing to sing joyfully in the morning. Just the very act of starting every day with joy and praise brings healing to our soul. Each morning think of all you have to be grateful for. Let that bring joy to your heart and praises to your lips. There’s no better way to start the day.
