Enter God’s Kingdom with Childlike Faith
Matthew 18:3-4 and Children Near the Mills Lake Trail, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
“Jesus said, ‘Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.’” Matthew 18:3-4
With Childlike Faith
Even when our kids were young, my family and I liked to hike. Back then my young children never asked, “Daddy, do you know where you’re going?” “Mommy, are we going somewhere dangerous?” Or “Daddy, do you know the way back?” Instead they simply believed in my wife and I and followed without concern. That’s how children trust.
Young children don’t need all the details when they are in the care and comfort of someone who loves them. They just trust those who love them with a simple sincerity. Having that kind of trust is the essence of becoming like a child and having childlike faith. It’s with that type of childlike faith we enter “the kingdom of Heaven.”
