Become Like Children and Enter the Kingdom
Matthew 18:3-4 and Children Near the Mills Lake Trail, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
“Jesus said, ‘Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.’”
Become Like Children
What does it mean to “become like children”? When a child goes with a parent, grand parent or other caring adult they often do not know where they are going. But the child doesn’t need to know. They just trust the adult, grab their hand and go.
Children don’t need all the details when they are in the care and comfort of someone they trust. Having that kind of trust is the essence of becoming like children and having childlike faith. It’s with such childlike faith we can enter the kingdom of Heaven.
