As the Deer
Psalm 42:1-2 & a White-tailed Deer Doe, Lake Manawa State Park, Iowa.
“As the deer pants for the water brooks
So my soul pants for You, O God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God;
When shall I come and appear before God?”
Psalm 42:1-2
Thirst for God
In psalm 42 the psalmist longs for God in a time of trouble. He pours out His heart to God in an emotion filled psalm. His words remind us that in both joy and sadness we have a deep need for God.
Let our souls thirst and long after God. For there is no greater desire than to know God and experience His presence. He means more to us than water means to a thirsty deer.
