A Thought for Father’s Day
Psalm 5:11 and A Male Red-winged Blackbird Watches Over His Family, Sarpy County, Nebraska.
“But let all who take refuge in You be glad, let them ever sing for joy; and may You shelter them, that those who love Your name may exult in You.” Psalm 5:11
Father’s Day: A Day for Protectors
This male red-winged blackbird sings not for joy, but to protect his family. His nest hides in the cattails in a ditch alongside a bike trail. As people walk and bike by he sings a bold warning from the branches above to defend his young.
God our heavenly father protects those He loves and calls earthly fathers to follow His example.
As a father I know God has called me to physically protect my children. But even more importantly, today he calls me and all Christian men to protect our children from the culture. The left-winged progressive culture wants to destroy our families and our faith. We need to stand between the culture and our children, clearly defining right and wrong so our children may find their way.

Thank you for being a “father “to you children. They are truly blessed. We need to pray for all fathers to make their children their priority!
God Bless You!
Thank you Sherry, for your kind words. Yes, we need to pray that fathers would make their children a priority and raise them to follow Christ. So many fathers are distance or not involved in their children’s lives at all.
I have enjoyed your daily photography & bible verses for many months. I no longer will follow you since you choose to bring politics into your message. Ads for Trump have no place here. So sad & disappointing.
He did not mention President Trump. He did encourage us to protect our children from divisive progressives. And all that aside, in
1 Timothy 2:1-4 God has instructed us to pray for our leaders, “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior … ” and 2 John 1:6 “And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands.”
Thanks Bebe. She saw an ad. The ads are random based on the viewing habits of each individual person.
Sorry, Robbie. The ads are random. I block ads on the site I don’t want appearing on the site, but I need to see them first. And each viewer sees their own ads. I’m not sure why you see Trump ads. I don’t. You shouldn’t see them either. All political advertising is supposed to be blocked from my website. I’m not sure why you get them. If you tell where the web link takes you I can block the site from advertising on the page.
And the ads pay for the site, so I need to keep them up, but there shouldn’t be political ads.
Thanks.
What do we do when our children are grown and we see them slipping away from God’s Truth? My husband told me this morning that we need to keep marching around the walls praying and singing praises until the walls fall. Our Father will protect them now. I am fighting the fear.
That’s hard. Sorry to hear about your children. My kids are still young and at home.
Prayer, love and truth is what we can offer when they leave the home.
Trump ads have been on this sight before. But putting down one political party while lifting up the importance of fatherhood is not appropriate.
