John 8:31-32 and a Flock of Ibis Rise up at Sunrise, Moss Park, Florida.
“So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, ‘If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.'” John 8:31-32
Only His Truth Sets Us Free
The truth sets us free, but how does one know the truth? According to the Bible we don’t learn the truth from studying worldly books or philosophy. When we follow after the light of Christ and His word Jesus says, He makes us His disciples. Only after we become His disciples do we come to know the truth. The truth is in Him. Through Him we are set free from sin and the chains of this world.

Psalm 139:11-12 and Gull at Sunrise, Lake Huron, Northern Michigan.
“If I say, ‘Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, and the light around me will be night,’ the darkness is not dark to You, and the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to You.” Psalm 139:11-12
God Sees in Both Darkness and Light
Sometimes the situations in our lives seem dark and uncertain, but God knows all. Even in our darkest hours He sees everything clearly. His eyes see light in our darkness. May we discover peace in knowing that truth.
Find encouragement in knowing God cares for you. You read all of Psalm 139.
Philippians 4:4-6 and Sandhill Cranes Taking Flight, Platte River Valley, Central Nebraska.
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:4-6
The Bible calls us to rejoice always. I don’t know about you, but sometime that’s hard for me to do. When things do not go right I struggle to rejoice. But as the air under the wings of a bird lift it to flight, I need to let God’s truth lift me.
God’s truth tells us He loves us, sustains us, stays near to us, calls us, forgive us and He has a plan. Most importantly, The Bible tells us God saves us and gives believers eternal life! Amen!
