The Beauty of Flowers in the Ditches — 7 Comments

  1. I was on my way home from Primerica Convention one year and driving solo. I chose a route that took me through Tennessee and while on the interstate I saw the “median flowers.” It was a riot of color! The plants never get very tall, so the bonus is that the DOT doesn’t have to mow them. I got to the point where I thought, “Gee, they’ll never believe this in Nebraska! I gotta take a picture!”

I pulled over to the shoulder of the road next to the median, got out of the car and stood in the middle of these flowers and got an amazing picture.

I also got an unexpected bonus…chiggers. From Tennessee to Nebraska, they bit and bit and bit! When I got home, I took a bath, but I didn’t realize that the chiggers were still in my clothes! So I got bit more! I couldn’t wear shoes or jeans because I was covered in bites!

    • Wow! What a beautiful story… Well, at least the flower part was beautiful. Bummer about all the jiggers. They are nasty little critters. Anyways, kudos to you for stopping and getting a photo.

  2. I thank God for your life and ministry. For years I have received your posts with beautiful photos and always a meditation on the Word of God. And I always share them. May God continue to bless you and your precious family. Today’s text was extremely wonderful for my soul.
