Praise God in His Mountain Sanctuary
Psalm 150:1-2 and Lily Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
“Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty expanse. Praise Him for His mighty deeds; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness.” Psalm 150:1-2
Worshipping God in a Mountain Sanctuary
Psalm 150 calls us to “Praise God in His sanctuary”. I enjoy praising God with fellow believers in the sanctuary of a church building. There are many benefits to corporate worship. As David Mathis writes on Desiringgod.com, one of those benefits is a shared joy in worshiping Jesus together. The Joy of corporate worship draws into a “greater adoration and awe” of our Lord.
But as an outdoor man at heart I also love to worship in nature. The sanctuary of nature brings me into greater adoration and awe of God. This is especially true in the mountains.
In God’s mountain sanctuary I cannot help but praise the maker of mountains. The majesty of mountains compels my heart to glorify and worship our mighty God!
