The Thundering Power of God
Psalm 104:7 and Niagara Falls, Niagara Falls State Park, New York.
“At Your rebuke the waters fled; at the sound of Your thunder they hurried away.” Psalm 104:7 (BSB)
The Thundering Power of God Stands
Nothing compares to the thundering power of God. If you have ever stood on the side of Niagara Falls and felt the roar of the water as it tumbled over the edge and smashed on to the rocks below, your have seen and felt power. As powerful as that is, God’s power is infinitely more powerful.
When God created, He filled nature with symbols of his power. We see bits of His power in mountains, thunderstorms, waterfalls, grizzly bears and in the pounding hooves of a herd of buffalo. Nature reveals God’s power in all these things and also in a myriad of other ways.
As powerful as nature is, nothing in it compares to the power of God. But nature’s power points us to the power of its Creator. Appreciating the power in nature allows us to better appreciate the power in God.
