The Thief Comes to Steal
John 10:10 and a Fox Squirrel Raiding a Bird Feeder, Eastern Nebraska.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” John 10:10
Be Watchful, for the Thief Comes
People who feed birds know that squirrels love to raid bird feeders. The hungry and crafty rodents get around some very creative anti-squirrel devices. They know what they want, and they have an underestimated intelligence and determination to get it.
The devil knows what he wants—eternal death to the souls of people. He has an underestimated intelligence and determination to get all those he can. The Bible calls him a thief.
Jesus is infinitely more powerful than Satan and He came to give life and love. He calls us to tell others of that life and love.
Find life in the words of Jesus in John 10.
PS. I do like squirrels. I think they are filled with personality. I enjoy watching them. They’re quite comical!

We loved this devotional. My husband is battling a squirrel on one of our feeders in the front, so we can definitely relate! The message was a great one, too, and serves as a reminder that the devil is always lurking in our midst, and we must be mindful and alert,
yep, all of us who feed birds have to keep those squirrels at bay. We purchased a squirrel proof feeder that actually works. But we still have another feeder that they can feast on and of course they get everything that falls to the ground. And I’m glad you liked the message!
I gave up and have been feeding the squirrels at home AND work. I have a tame female named Peanut who eats from my hand.
Wow! Eats out of your hand. That’s fun.
One of the feeders we now have is a squirrel proof feeder. It actually works. It has nice design the keeps them off the feeder spot. Even if they get on the spot to feed, they’re too heavy and it closes.
