Shrewd as Serpents with God’s Grace and Truth

In today’s world we often get frustrated when we present truth. So many people just don’t want to hear it. But how should we respond? Should we no longer take a strong stand for truth with the hope that we will show love or be a better witness for God?

In Matthew chapter 10 Jesus gave His disciples some great advice when sending them into a hostile world. He told them to “be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.” What wisdom! May we always stand firm to what we hold to be true, but then present ourselves with innocents through grace and gentleness towards others who may not believe.
