Restore Joy Through Repentance and Forgiveness
Psalm 51:12-13 and Fog over Lake Crescent, Olympic National Park, Washington State.
“Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and sustain me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will be converted to You.” Psalm 51:12-13
Lord, Restore Joy Through Forgiveness.
I often think about the forgiveness of God. Without His forgiveness we stand guilty and unrighteous before Him. But because our Lord is a gracious and merciful God He forgives us of our sins when we repent before Him.
King David in ancient Israel was a guilty sinner of the worst kind. He committed both adultery and murder, but God forgave David after he humbled himself and repented before the Lord.
Psalm 51 is David’s beautiful prayer of repentance. You can read it here and pray for God’s forgiveness in your life. When we ask, He is faithful to forgive us and restore to us the joy of His salvation! Amen
Such a wonderful prayer of repentance … “It is against You, and You alone, that I sin … ” A very humbling prayer, indeed. Thank you, Pasquale.
Yes, and our God is so gracious to forgive us.
