The Redemption of the Cross
Matthew 27:59-60 and Three Crosses, Camp Luther, Colfax County, Nebraska.
“And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the entrance of the tomb and went away.” Matthew 27:59-60
Symbol of Redemption
In great sadness Joseph Arimathea, Nicodemus and those who were with them took Jesus’s body down from the cross. The Jews of Jesus’s time looked at the cross with great fear and disdain. But God’s transforming power turned this instrument of torture and death into the greatest symbol of hope and redemption of all time. On this Resurrection Sunday may you experience God’s transforming power.
