The Bible and God Our Rock

The Bible calls God our rock over two dozen times. It does so 19 times in the Book of Psalms alone. Why?

As a nature photographer I have seen rocks in the wilderness and can understand why David and the other biblical writers would call God a rock. Rocks in the wilderness can be massive and provide refuge and protection. They also are stable and strong. God is our refuge, protection, stability and strength.
