In Remembrance of Me
1 Corinthians 11:23b-24 and a Table with Bread and Wine
“The Lord Jesus, on the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, ‘This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.'” 1 Corinthians 11:23b-24
Jesus Said, “Do this in Remembrance of Me”
Over the next several days, let us remember the Lord’s sacrifice for us. May we remember that His body was broken for our sin. And because He was broken, we can be restored.
And the Bible does not ask that we remember the sacrifice at this time of year alone, but often. Jesus called us to “do this in remembrance of Me.” In 1 Corinthians 11 Paul reminds believers of this. So if we are called to do it in remembrance, then God calls us to do it often. And Paul also mentioned, we are to do it with a great reverence.
Thank You Lord, for dying for us. Help us to remember the work You did on the cross and the pain and suffering You went through so we may live.
