“The righteous cry, and the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.” Psalm 34:17-19

God of the Brokenhearted

It’s good to know God cares for us when we are hurting. He stays close and is not far from us. He hears the cry of the righteous when we cry out to Him.

When we feel low, when we feel crushed and when we feel brokenhearted, God is near to us. He does not walk away when we are empty and alone. His presence stays with us and He listens to us. Walk your journey with Him. 

Be encouraged by reading all of Psalm 34. God is good!

  2. True! The Lord is near to His people when they are afflicted. He does not abandon those with a broken spirit. The main thing is to rely on Him for He draws near to us, when we cannot manage. This is one of my all time favorite psalms. Thank you!

    • Hi Dede. Thanks for your comment. Scholars say these beautiful words of David were written after he fled from one of the Philistine kings. David knew he had to turn to his God in times of trouble.
