Vast Galaxies made by an Immense God

I love night photography. Anytime I get a chance to spend time out on a clear, dark night under the stars I feel closer to my Creator.

Scientists believe our home galaxy, the Milky Way, contains somewhere between 100 to 300 billion stars. They have also discovered thousands of other galaxies and believe each one contains millions of stars. When I think about that, I believe we should stand in reverent fear of a God so immense He calls the stars the work of his fingers!

When I gaze upon the wondrous night sky and contemplate that God knows the number of the stars and calls them each by name, I’m reminded of the Lord’s words above from Job 38.

  1. so beautiful! I came to know the Lord by going out at night and spreading my hands to the heavens, crying out to God. He was there…and I’ve never forgotten those days.

  3. Where else in the world can you be closer to our Magnificent Creator than in the wilderness? In my humble opinion, there is no place better than watching a sunrise or sunset in the wild. It always brings me closer to God watching his hand stroke the beautiful colors across the sky or watching the first star begin to shine at dusk. With this perception I realize that I am a speck of dust within his vast creation. It’s a humbling and divine experience. Thank you for sharing.
