God Alone is Everlasting
Hebrews 1:10-12 and Longs Peak, Seen from a Mountainside. Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed.” Hebrews 1:10-12 (NIV)
Everlasting and Self-Existent
Hebrews 1:10-12 speaks of God as being everlasting. It reveals that in the beginning God created everything and that He is not part of creation. It tells us God exists independent of all creation.
God does not need the help of creation to exist. Every living plant and animal relies on God and other things in creation for their existence. God alone is self-existent and eternal.
God not needing any help from anything or anyone means, “He’s got this.” Nothing happens in our lives that God can’t control. He not only holds the entire universe in His hands, but our lives as well.

Thanks for your reminder that God is not surprised by anything that happens. He may not need us to exist, but we certainly need Him.
amen….and the more needy we realize ourselves to be, the more we can enjoy His peaceful love because of His greatness! glory to God
