God’s Righteousness and Holiness
Ephesians 4:23-24 and Trees Covered with Snow, Hitchcock Nature Center, Iowa.
“And that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.” Ephesians 4:23-24
Called to Righteousness and Holiness
God is pure and holy. He is set apart from all else. Nothing else matches the holiness of God.
God calls us to holiness. In Ephesians 4:20-32 the Apostle Paul describes to the Church at Ephesus the kind of life and holiness God beckons us to. He wants us to turn away from the sinful ways of our former life. He calls us to “lay aside the old self and to put on a new self, which is the likeness of God.”
Sometimes putting on that new self is hard. We may find it easier to live in our old ways, but God calls us to something greater. He calls us to His holiness. When we yield our ways to His ways, He transforms us like snow transforms and landscape.
