Crown of Righteousness and a Blaze of Glory
2 Timothy 4:7-8 and Fall Colors Above Bear Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
Crown of Righteousness
The leaves on these aspen trees completed their work. They did what they were made to do and they are going out in a blaze of glory, a tree’s crown of beauty.
The Apostle Paul told his spiritual son Timothy that he has done all he was called to do. He ran the good race, but it was his time to leave this world. Eventually, on judgement day he will receive his crown of righteousness.
It safe to say Paul went out with a blaze of glory—God’s glory. He fully served the Lord. It makes one wonder, “How will I live. Will I fully serve God and go out in blaze of His glory.”
