The Red Letters and the Black Letters
2 Timothy 3:16-17 and An Old Bible in an Old Church, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, North Carolina.
“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
The Red Letters… and The Rest of the Bible
Many Bible publishers print the words of Jesus in red. We find life in those red words. They touch our souls and are sweet to read. But before there was the red ones, there was the plan ol’ black letters.
Jesus read and study the black letters (the Old Testament) before he spoke any of the red ones (His words in the New Testament). Without the black letters the red ones stand incomplete.
God gave us the entire Bible—the red and the black letters. To fully know Him, He calls us to read and treasure all of them.
Read all of 2 Timothy 3.
