The Mountains are Calling, Jesus is Calling
In a letter to his sister the famous naturalist John Muir wrote, “The mountains are calling and I must go.” The mountains call to me all the time. Sadly, I can’t answer their call as much as I would like.
I believe the mountains’ call points us to something more significant than just the mountains themselves. Their call tell us of something far more greater and majestic than the mountains. Their call tells of their Creator, Jesus.
Just as He called to Matthew (known as Levi in this passage) Jesus calls to us. He earnestly desires for us to follow Him. There is no greater call we can answer.
Read about Jesus calling Matthew and others in Mark 2. Jesus is calling.
