God Grows the Lilies of the Field
Matthew 6:28, 29 and a Coneflower, Eastern Nebraska.
“And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.” Matthew 6:28, 29 (NIV)
Provided for like the Lilies of the Field
In the time of Jesus people worried about how their clothes looked. Today people have way more clothes, but still worry about how they look. Jesus tells us not to worry about such things and that the flowers created by God are way more beautiful than clothes made by men. If God made the flowers beautiful surely He is worthy of our trust.
Find encouragement in all of Matthew 6.

Hi Joan. Thank you for your prayers and kind words. It does bless me to know you are praying for my family and me and that you find the daily devotionals fulfilling. Thanks for letting me know!
I think coneflowers are my very favorite flower because their blooms last nice and long, and they are a perennial plant. I enjoy having some in my yard. Thank you for posting this picture, Pasquale!
Thanks Terri! I hope all is well. We like cone flowers too. My wife grows them in the backyard and in the front yard. It’s the only flower we have in both the back and the front. This photo was taken in our front yard.
