I Corinthians 2:9 and a Waterfall, White Mountains New Hampshire.
“But just as it is written, ‘Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which have not entered the heart of man, all that God has prepared for those who love Him.’” I Corinthians 2:9
Man-made beauty does not compare to the beauty found in nature. But yet even nature’s beauty calls us to something greater. The beauty of the natural world calls us to the greater beauty of heavenly beauty—the glory and peace we ultimately long for. Just as nature’s beauty far exceeds man-made beauty, God’s beauty and the beauty of Heaven greatly surpasses the beauty of nature.

Exodus 33:21-22 and the Sunset from the Island in the Sky, Canyon Lands National Park, Utah.
“Then the Lord said, ‘There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by.’” Exodus 33:21-22
We Will See His Glory
The glory of God is so much greater than the glory of a sunset, yet a sunset gives us a glimpse of God’s glory.
In Exodus 33 Moses caught a glimpse of God’s actual glory while on Mount Sinai. But God could not show Moses His face and His full glory because Moses would die due to his human sin. But because of Jesus and His death and resurrection Christian believers will someday see God’s unveiled face and His full glory in Heaven. Praise Him!

Psalm 97:1-2 and Granite Top Coastline Acadia National Park, Maine.
“The LORD reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice. Clouds and thick darkness surround him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.” Psalm 97:1-2
Join the Distant Shores Rejoice
I confess. Too often I find myself to be a grumbler and complainer. I let little things put me in a bad mood. But the Bible calls all to rejoice. Even the “distant shores” are called to rejoice and celebrate our God.
Rejoicing like the distance shores is the way to go. Happiness doesn’t bring joy. Happiness is an emotion. Joy is a mindset. A mindset of joy brings happiness.
Let’s all join the distance shores and rejoice!

Isaiah 25:4 and Hoodoo Formations, Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah.
“For You have been a defense for the helpless, A defense for the needy in his distress, A refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat; For the breath of the ruthless Is like a rain storm against a wall.” Isaiah 25:4
God Our Defense
In God we find our defenses. He is our refuge from the storm. He protects His believers at all times. He is an impenetrable fortress.

“How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word. With all my heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from Your commandments.”
Keep His Way Pure
As a young man in college I memorized these verses and kept them near to my heart. The Bible says the way for a young man to keep His way pure is by living according to God’s Word.
This wisdom not only applies to young men, but to all of us. The Scripture calls believers to follow God’s commands and ways. When we do this we realize there is no better way to live than by reading the Bible and following God.
The Bible is a holy book meant to be read, treasured and followed.
