Lamentations 3:54-56 and a Fall Leaf on a Rock, Great Smoky Mountains National Park
“Waters flowed over my head; I said, ‘I am cut off!’ I called on Your name, O LORD, out of the lowest pit. You have heard my voice, ‘Do not hide Your ear from my prayer for relief, from my cry for help.’” Lamentations 3:54-56
The Waters and this Life Flow Over Us
The Prophet Jeremiah wrote these words after the fall of Jerusalem. I’d like to say that things eventually worked out for Jeremiah, but nope. This man of God died a prisoner in a foreign land.
Sometimes our life gets depressed and the waters flow over our heads. It seems our life and health get washed away and we don’t have much to cling to. Life on earth will eventually let us all down.
But you know what? God is good. He has an amazing life waiting for us in eternity. Jeremiah suffered greatly, but today he lives with God forever. Follow Christ and someday you will too!
