Psalm 68:4-5 and Desert Rock Formations, Badlands National Park, South Dakota.
“Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Lift up a song for Him who rides through the deserts, whose name is the LORD, and exult before Him. A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, is God in His holy habitation.” Psalm 68:4-5
Even Through Deserts
Praise the Lord that He is “a father to the fatherless.” Though a desert seems barren there is life there. If you look close at this desert landscape photo you will see a bird flying above the rock formations. If we see one bird we know that there is so much more life there. Birds do not survive where there is no other life.
Things are never as barren as they may appear. God always puts more there then we first see. That’s true in nature and in our lives. In life there is more than the loneliness or depression one might see. God has more for those who feel alone. As “a father of the fatherless,” He carries us through our deserts like the wings of a bird. We are never barren when we have the Lord.
