A Foundation on the Rock

Luke 6:47-48 and a Stone Chapel Outside Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. The stone structure of St. Catherine of Siena Chapel on the property of Camp St. Malo beneath the mountains of Rocky Mountain National Park, Allenspark, Colorado Luke 6:47-48, a foundation on the rock

“Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.” Luke 6:47-48

Saint Catherine of Siena Chapel sits on the property of Camp St. Malo in Allenspark, Colorado. In 2013, 100-year rains and floods decimated much of the property, but the chapel remained. With one look at its rock foundation and structure it is easy see why it survived the waters.

The Gospels of Luke and Matthew tell us that Jesus explained, “Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them” is like a wiseman who builds his house on a rock.

When we build our lives on Jesus and His words we build our lives on the best foundation one could build.
