Water To a Thirsty Land

Isaiah 44:3 and Medano, Great Sand Dunes National Park, Colorado.

“For I will pour out water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring and My blessing on your descendants.” Isaiah 44:3

God Brings Water To a Thirsty Land

When I first walked out to photograph the dunes in Great Sand Dunes National Park, there was no creek to walk through. All that I walked across was wet sand.

After I spent about a half hour to 45 minutes photographing the dunes, I started to walk back. As I did, Medano Creek began to flow again as a result of thunderstorms in the mountains. I didn’t want to pass up the moment, and I stopped to photograph the return of the creek.

In the Old Testament, when God’s people turned away from Him, the flow of His blessings dried up. However, his love for them did not. In Isaiah 44, the prophet tells the Jewish people that water’s of God’s blessing would eventually flow again.

Even though each one of us has turned our back on God, He still showed us His love through Jesus Christ. When we repent and follow Him, He gives us the flowing waters of His blessings and grace. Praise God!
