A Sown Seed Becomes New Life

1 Corinthians 15:35-38 and Newly Emerged Spinach, Bellevue, Nebraska.A young spinach seedling growing in a garden. Bible verse of the day first Corinthians 15:35–38, 41 A sown seed and the resurrectio

“But someone will say, ‘How are the dead raised? And with what kind of body do they come?’ You fool! That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies; and that which you sow, you do not sow the body which is to be, but a bare grain, perhaps of wheat or of something else. But God gives it a body just as He wished, and to each of the seeds a body of its own…So also is the resurrection of the dead.” 1 Corinthians 15:35-38

A Dead Body: A Sown Seed for Resurrection

So is a dried up seed dead and empty without Life? No, not at all. The seed waits to be reborn and grow into a flourishing plant.

First Corinthians 15 reminds us that so it is for a believer. Our body does not die forever when it dies. It waits in the ground like a seed that waits to rise up as a new plant. When we die our body waits for the resurrection of the dead, when it will rise up new. On that day our body joins our soul in everlasting life. For the believer death is not the end, but the beginning!
