Matthew 6:33-34 and a Raccoon, Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge, Sanibel Island, Florida.
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:33-34
Seek First
When I photographed this raccoon he was out looking for crustaceans and other critters in tidal pools along the mangrove forest in South Florida. The raccoons that live in the mangroves have learned to live differently than other raccoons. They are not nocturnal, but live their lives by the tides. Nighttime or daytime, no matter when the tide is low, the mangrove raccoons become active to seek their food.
As Christians we live our lives differently than others. God calls us to seek Him first.
How wonderful it is to put God before all else. The Bible tells us that with all our concerns and all our matters in life, we should seek God first. May we seek and hunger after Him like a hungry animal seeks its food. Nothing is greater than God. He can handle everything that worries us.
