Guest Post by Sydney Michalski: John 4:13-14 and Black-capped Chickadee Drinking from Melting Icicles, Columbia, Maine.
“Jesus said to her, ‘Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again’” John 4:13-14 (ESV)
Be Refreshed
I think it’s wonderful to contemplate the different ways in which God cares for His many creatures. Though little chickadees feet are bare, the birds have no trouble weathering Maine’s harsh winters. God designed them with a special circulatory system which keeps their feet from freezing.
So on a crisp winter day when the sun began melting icicles this chickadees perched on a them to drink the pure, clean droplets flowing from its tip. The water so refreshed the chickadee that after each drink, the little bird licked his beak.
The bird served as reminder to me to take a moment and give thanks to God for being so very, very good!
May you find yourself refreshed today as you draw near to the Father who alone gives living water to all His children.
Read all of John 4.
