Romans 6:8-9 and Lily Leaves Emerging after Winter, Bellevue, Nebraska

“Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him.” Romans 6:8-9

Raised with Christ

Romans 6 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. I love how it points out, that as believers, God made us a new creation and we are no longer captive to sin. Romans 6 tells us we were buried with Christ in baptism, and we died to our old self. When we emerged with Christ we emerged as a new creation in Him.

Because of our death and being made a new creation in Christ, we no longer are bound to sin. We can choose to live a new life in Christ as slaves of God’s righteousness. We stand liberated from both sin and the law in Christ! Praise God! We can live free from sin and we will live forever with Him.
