Hebrews 12:14 and a Foot Bridge Covered in Snow, Seymour Smith Park, Nebraska.
“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.” Hebrews 12:14 (NKJV)
Pursue Peace and Holiness with Everyone
As part of the conclusion to his letter, the writer of Hebrews exhorts his readers to pursue peace with all people. In that same sentence he also calls them to holiness. Both are needed to draw others to Christ.
Today’s divided culture makes it difficult to live at peace with those who disagree with us. I for one find this hard to do, but the Bible calls us to it.
God also desires that we pursue holiness. We are to hold onto His standards. In order to truly draw people to Christ, we must not sacrifice holiness for the sake of tranquility and harmony.
So let us be at peace with others, but yet always hold firm to what is righteous, holy and good.
