Consider the Needs of Others

Philippians 2:3-4 and a Great Egret with Chicks, Central Florida.A great stands watch of it's young chick in a nest, Central Florida. Philippians 2:3-4 Bible verse and consider the needs of others

“Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.” Philippians 2:3-4

Nature and the Needs of Others

Egret parents live completely devoted to their offspring. One parent hunts while the other remains at the nest to keep watch over the chicks. As the chicks grow they eventually reach the point where both parents hunt all day long to meet the chicks increasing demand for food.

Egret parents live as though their offspring are more important than themselves. These birds give us a picture from nature on what it means to “do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit” and to “regard one another as more important”.

Dear Lord, may we always consider the needs of others.
