Meditations in the Night

Psalm 63:6-7 and tents from at Trail Life USA campout, Waubonsie State Park, Iowa

“When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches, For You have been my help, And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.” Psalm 63:6-7

Our Meditations in the Night

David wrote Psalm 63 when he was in the wilderness of Judah. He wrote it as a psalm of praise and of reliance on the Lord. In the wilderness David saw God’s power and glory (see verse two) and he knew that this God of power and glory watched over him day and night. David praised Him for it.

As we lay our heads down to sleep may we remember God with our meditations in the night. Like David, may we praise Him knowing He watches over us through the night and at all times.

PS
I don’t normally think about Christmas this early on, but I know many people do. So that’s why I’m letting you know that my devotional book makes for a great Christmas present. Check it out here.
