The Lord Will Grant Peace

Haggai 2:9 and The Sky Reflects off a Lake at Sunset, Orlando Wetlands Park, Central Florida. The Sky Reflects off a Lake at Sunset, Orlando Wetlands Park, Central Florida and Haggai 2:9 Bible Verse God, grant peace

“The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the LORD Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the LORD Almighty.” Haggai 2:9

Grant Peace

70 years after the destruction of the first temple in Jerusalem, also known as Solomon’s Temple, Zerubbabel (a descendent of David) led the Jews to build a second temple. Compared to the Solomon’s Temple, it wasn’t much of anything. But God promised them that glory of the second temple would be greater than the first.

After King Herod finished adding to the second temple, it definitely was more glorious than the first. Not only that, Christ Himself physically entered the second temple, but it is possible that this prophecy is alluding to a temple more spiritual in nature. The prophecy may truly be fulfilled in the person Christ. When God grants peace in Christ, that peace surpasses all other peace.

Dear Lord, grant us your peace today and everyday. May we trust in You and someday may we enjoy the glory of Your eternal house.
