Isaiah 40:9 & Part of the Snowy Range Mountains, Wyoming.
“Go up on a high mountain, Zion, messenger of good news, Raise your voice forcefully, Jerusalem, messenger of good news; Raise it up, do not fear. Say to the cities of Judah, ‘Here is your God!’” Isaiah 40:9
Declare God from the Mountain Tops
I like it when Bible verses and worship songs mention mountains. One modern worship song speaks of praising God from the valley to the mountain tops. It is speaking in metaphorical terms, but it creates a great visual image from nature of how we should praise God.
Isaiah 40:9 also tells of speaking of God from a high mountain in metaphorical terms. This passage uses mountains to tell of the importance of declaring the greatness of God to everyone. Our God needs to be declared from a place where everyone can hear. People need to know that God is awesome, and we are called to proclaim that message.
