Psalm 146:5-6 and a Manatee, the Crystal River, Florida.
“How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, Who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them.” Psalm 146:5-6
Stewards of the Wonders of the Sea and all creation
God made the wonders in the sea and in all the world’s waters. He created so many different creatures and each one of them displays His imagination. Manatees are one of those creatures.
When I first encountered a manatee underwater, I looked at its great size and thought, I should be afraid. But I wasn’t. And there wasn’t a reason to be afraid. These great behemoths of Florida’s Rivers and coastal areas live their lives with gentleness and curiosity. They are just one of the many wonders of our God.
Sadly, manatees struggle to thrive these days, but God has a plan. He placed people as steward of His creation. He made nature, but called us to manage it. May we manage manatees and all of creation with respect towards God, the Creator.
