“For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

Looking for the Eternal

Let our eyes look up towards God. The Bible tells us to focus on things everlasting and not on the temporary pains and pleasures of this world.

Any affliction we face here, according to the Apostle Paul, is “momentary” and “light.” And anyone familiar with the book of Acts knows that Paul faced many afflictions. The only way he can view his afflictions as light, is that he focused on Christ and eternity.

God is good and God is good all the time. We who believe will experience His goodness for all eternity.
