The Coming of Christ, the Sunrise of God

Luke 1:76-79 and the Sunrise in Rocky Mountain National Park and Silent NightThe sun rising behind mountain peaks seen from Trail Ridge Road, Rocky Mountain National Park. Bible Verse of the Day: Luke 1:76-79 Sunrise of God

“And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare his ways; to give to His people the knowledge of salvation by the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, with which the Sunrise from on high will visit us, to shine upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death.” Luke 1:76-79

The Sunrise of God

This prophecy given through John the Baptist’s father Zachariah declared the coming of the Sunrise from on High. The “Sunrise” Zachariah refers to is Jesus. He is the One that came to bring light to shine upon those who sit in darkness. Amen!

As the great Christmas hymn “Silent Night” sings:

Silent night! holy night!
Son of God, love’s pure light
radiant beams from thy holy face
with the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth.
Jesus, Lord at thy birth.
