Struck Down, but not Forsaken

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 and Snow Covered leaves, Sarpy County, NebraskaNewly fallen red autumn maple leaves lightly covered with a dusting of snow, Sarpy County, Nebraska. Bible Verse of the Day: 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, struck down

“We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

Persecuted, Struck Down, but not Forsaken

The Apostle Paul suffered greatly for the Gospel as did most Christians in the early church. Paul wrote the above words to encourage the believers through their struggles.

Many people today still face persecution and strong persecution of the western church may not be far off. Pray for those under persecution.

But praise God! Persecution is not the end. As Paul emphasizes in the following verses, God will raise us up and bring us to eternal glory with Him. So whether you suffer from persecution or simply from the struggles of this world, praise God! As a believer someday you will be with Him! Be blessed daily!
