Storm Clouds of God Rescue Those He Loves

The warrior poet David wrote Psalm 18 as a psalm of praise after God delivered him from his enemies. David’s enemies were God’s enemies and God eventually pours out His wrath on those who oppose Him.

The Bible pictures God as a storm when He goes after the wicked. It describes Him as riding out on the wind in a chariot pulled by heavenly creatures as He pursues His enemies. He seeks after the wicked as a relentless storm to dispose of them and to rescue those He loves.

To be in the storm of God’s wrath is a terrible place to be. The wicked may stand for a time, but the final triumph belongs to God and those who love Him.
