Ephesians 4:22a-24 and a Painted Lady Butterfly, Eastern Nebraska.
“Lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.” Ephesians 4:22a-24
Transformed and Renewed
A butterfly lives a completely transformed life. As a caterpillar it munched on bitter leaves, had no real legs and kind of poked along. But as a butterfly it dances on wings in the breeze flying from flower to flower to sip sweet nectar.
When I read God’s word I see that I need to be transformed. Each day of my life my actions remind me of this. As believers, God works to transform our lives just as He transforms butterflies. Through Christ we no longer crawl along eating the bitter leaves of sin. He enables us to live new lives dancing in His breeze while sipping the sweet nectar of His Word. Finally, our completely transformed life will be fully manifested when we live with Him in heaven. Amen
